About this video
I've always been a huge fan of main title sequences, and I've always wanted to be involved in the process behind their creation. Back in 2019, I came across some beautiful artwork created for the promotion of 'Dracula'. I immediately thought that the opening title sequence for the show would be in the same style as those great adverts. But when the official title sequence came out, it turned out to be quite different. I was inspired by the look of the ad campaign, so I started to design some style frames myself. The styleframes ended up being quite close to the ad campaign, as if they could live in the same coherent visual universe. I even went as far as to create a storyboard for a title sequence. When I shared my work with some colleagues and friends to get feedback and improve my work, most of them wanted to see the animated version that would come from the storyboard. I knew the amount of work that would require, and I had to think twice before embarking on such a huge personal project. A couple of months later, my need to escape from my full time job in advertising led me to return to this 'Dracula' project of mine, and to turn it into a fully animated title sequence.
